Soliciting for Prostitution

Prostitution is Illegal in Florida
Buying and selling sex is an age-old practice and a crime in Florida. A charge of soliciting for prostitution can seriously impact your life, your marriage, and sometimes your health. In the State of Florida, Prostitution is defined in section 796.07 of the Florida Statutes. The primary areas we see charged are in relation to the two individuals engaging in the prostitution, the “prostitute” and the “John”.  They are alleged to have acted: “To offer to commit, or to commit, or to engage in, prostitution, lewdness, or assignation. To solicit, induce, entice, or procure another to commit prostitution, lewdness, or assignation.”

The statute also defines other actions associated with these types of charges, and the penalties imposed for first-time offenders and those with multiple violations. The penalty for soliciting a prostitute includes the following:
Community Service
Incarceration
Impoundment of a Vehicle
Court-Ordered Educational Programs
Civil Penalties/Fines
